1890s Enamel Silver Locket with American Indian Influence (sold)

Little enamel photo lockets were very popular at the end of the 19th century, and this one is constructed just like all the others. But the curious thing about it is that the enamel design shows a strong American Indian influence.  This is a real divergence from the typical Victorian design motifs.  I’ve never seen anything like it before.
