1860-70s Anglo-Indian Tiger Claw Earrings, 18K Gold (sold)
I don’t usually buy much tiger claw jewelry, but I couldn’t resist these. The gold work is spectacular, and I’ve never seen another pair with tiger head tops. They’re also a particularly nice example of how 19th century English jewelry began to draw on Indian design. And vice-versa. These were probably Indian-made, but fit to Victorian tastes.
