1922 Peacock Textile, Steiner & Co. (at the V&A)
A couple weeks ago we stayed at a place upstate that kept pet peacocks. They’re impossible looking creatures, like something straight out of mythology. The peacock motif was particularly popular in Western design in the 19th century through the 1920s. I’d really love to get my hands on some Victorian or Art Nouveau peacock jewelry. These 1830s earrings would do.
I’m off on a buying trip for the weekend, but we’ll be open regular hours Saturday, 12 to 6.
